Rumors are becoming more and more popular on web about the future of the Toyota Supra and if these are to be believed to be true then the next generation will certainly poised to displace the most popular car of its kind, the Nissan 350Z. Based on the idea of the Lexus 450 which is Toyota's now only 2-seater sports car, the new Toyota Supra will rival muscle car horsepower, import tuner weight, and exotic car design.
Since its discontinuance in 1999 this car has been coveted by all who value speed and legendary looks. Toyota has finally heard the cries of loyal consumers begging for the return of the car that started it all.
Originally made with the lightweight but relatively quick turbocharged V6 2JZ-GTE with over 250 horsepower, the most popular generation of this amazing Toyota production is still sought after by enthusiasts, and Hollywood directors alike. Toyota has outdone itself with its new and latest leak of possible new performance specs.
Under the hood the new Toyota Coupe is expected to be equipped with 5.0 liter V8 engine which is new to Toyota and will produce 450 bhp and 383 lb-ft of torque. However, issues with rigidity are going to prevent this engine from coming in the new Toyota convertible model. This was decided after the new Toyota was originally intended to come with a 4.3L V8 with less power but could be used in both the new coupe and new convertible models. This future Toyota is rumored to have rear wheel drive and a new 7 speed sequential automatic transmission with a great acceleration where the car will cover 0-60mph in less than 5 seconds and yet provide 30mpg of fuel efficiency.
The Toyota convertible model is expected to come with a 3.5L V6 engine which is also used in the Lexus IS 350 and GS 350. It is rumored this engine will come with around 350hp. So if you are looking for a quick car with a lighter price tag than the new super powerful V8, this is your best value at around $40,000 (the new V8 will run around $50,000)
- New exotic design
